FORMAL INSTRUCTION

LIBRARY INSTRUCTIONAL WEB SITE
  • Revision  of Powerpoint slide presentation and mounting of Powerepoint slides on Keeley Library Instructional Web Site.(see online catalogs)
  • Orientation handouts revised in September for WebCat online catalog, and again in February for newer Ibistro online catalog.
  • Directional signs and posters created for new online catalog and Scholastic program.
  • Setup of online database links from new online catalogs to vendors
  • Orientations to all Freshman English classes.
  • Instruction (pdf file) as needed to groups working on class projects, and individual instruction and assistance to students.
  • Preparation of Instructional Guides for classes working on projects.

  • Creation of additional Pathfinders/Topic Guides for content and for thinking skill activities and addition of these to the web site. Each guide includes both in-house and web resources.
  • Continual maintenance and revision of Keeley Library Instructional Web Site 
  • Mounting of Instructional Web Site on the Fred TV Server in May, and creating referring links from Massed.net, its former home.
  • Reinstalling the Keeley Library Web Site on the Massed.net server in June, when the Fred TV server went down, so that the Assessment Center might have it for workshops on curriculum templates at the end of June.
  • Book collections for U.S.History projects placed on reserve each week.
READING PROGRAM:
Scholastic Reading Counts & Alert Reader
  • Program update installation, and entering of student data 

  • New books entered into database. Note: Since Block Scheduling and MCAS, use of this program has decreased considerably, probably because teachers are spending more time covering content in class. We have a site license.See Scholastic.
Project Planning with teachers:
  • Information provided about available resources to Mr. Carey, Mr. Perry, Mr. Peloquin,  Mrs.Sisson, and other teachers planning new units or activities. 
Library Faculty Guide
  • Faculty Guide revised twice to show both changes to our new online catalog, and mounted online on our 
  • Teacher pages section of our online catalog expanded with pages for inclusion, etc.
  • Video List revised and mounted on the Instructional Web Site. 1,000 titles listed.
Self Study Activities
Cooperation with Assessment Center in Curriculum Revision
Research for Teachers:
  • Regular assistance to individual teachers with research for graduate classes, etc.
