CONTENT: Banking Services
Students explain the role of exchange and money in economic systems and describe the effect of interdependence on economic activity. Students identify money as an accepted medium of exchange used to purchase goods and services in the economy.
PERFORMANCE:Explain Solution to a Problem, Explain Products and Services.
Students will, after completing worksheets designed to increase their knowledge of banking services  and savings accounts, answer questions based on this information . They will also compute compound interest.

CONTENT: Competition among Banks
Students describe different types of competive structures and illustrate the role of of competitive markets in the U.S. and other economies.Students explain how competition among sellers of a good or service generally results in lower prices for buyers and lower profits for sellers.
PERFORMANCE: Students will use their knowledge of competition to describe how banks compete with each other. They will use newspaper advertisements to demonstrate how banks compete and offer examples of the  services banks offer in order to compete.

PERFORMANCE: Students will write an essay in which they describe everyday examples of credit and how and why they would use it wisely.  They will include examples of their own need for using credit and what they will do to use it responsibly.
