    Students will learn the signs, causes, and and treatment of chronic and communicable diseases, and will gain skills related to health promotion, disease prevention and health maintenance.
    PERFORMANCE:Students will accss local health board data and subsequently generate an analytical report detailing underlying causes of disseases and prevention recommendaitons.

    CONTENT: Safety and Injury Prevention
    Students will gain the knowledge and skills to administer first aid and carry out emergency procedures ;will avoid, recognize, and report.verbal, physical and emotional abusive situations; and will assess the factors that contribute to intentional and unintentional injury, including motor vehicle safety, fire safety, and weapons safety.
    PERFORMANCE: Given a variety of relationship scenarios, students will identify abusive, harassing behaviours and suggest appropriate courses of action.
    End product: Short essay identifying abusive/harassing behaviours from scenarious in real life.

    Skills in communicating about substance use/abuse prevention for healthier schools, homes communities
    PERFORMANCE:Appropriate video assessment
    Students will analyxe a video presentation.Analysis will include identification of the process and signs of addiction evident in the film, as well as potential remediation.
